Using Pet Skills pet, skills

I gave four pets skills like crescent slash.
But in four PVP battles they're not getting used.
Is it random in battles that they're used at all?
Yet defenders use pet skills in every battle.???
Am I missing a step?

pet skills  r only triggered at pet arena (in pet Island) and its totally random...and  they r kinda not Worth gold u used to learn them
